Line Corp
Schedule A - can I deduct state taxes paid by my S-Corp?

I'm looking at Schedule A, line 5 where you can deduct state taxes paid last year.

I don't remember seeing the option to deduct state taxes paid last year on my 1120s form for my S-Corp, and I'm wondering if I can deduct them here since it's a pass-through-entity. Or do corps just not get to deduct last year's state taxes?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Normally S Corporations do not pay taxes unless they are sales taxes, property taxes, but not income taxes. On your S Corp tax return you list you income and expenses, then the profit or loss flows to your tax return. If the Corporation paid your personal income tax then that would probably be considered a loan or a distribution to you, and it is possible you could deduct it, but if it was a loan you would have to repay that loan at some point in time.
