how can i make my computer run runecape faster?

my computer is old and it used to run runescape pretty fast but now it runs it slow. here are my system specifications:

If you can tell me anything that would help my computer run faster at all it would be helpful and i just degragmented the drive yesterday but it didnt help much. and runescape is on at low as it can go on graphics settings and the open gl and directx and stuff u can use 2 run it all dont make it go faster.

Sounds like a Dell Dimension 2350. I was going to suggest increasing RAM to 2 gigs but the maximum RAM for that one is 1 gig.

I have a Dell Dimension 2400. On XP SP3 with 2 gigs RAM. And Pentium 4. No video card. High speed internet and Runescape has been running fine for me. I also have nothing else like Word or Excel programs running. I also have no one else using my internet.

Your 1 gig limit would be the biggest killer and you can't add anymore. The 2400 model has a 2 gig limit. They are cheap.

Pointless to get a better video card because your CPU will bottleneck its performance. Slow could be spyware/virus. If you have wireless then someone could be stealing your wifi.
