to pre grind or grind on the spot?

is the differance that big when you grind right before you make espresso? i was thinking of getting a burr mill grinder for espresso making but when i look up opinions it seems that all i read are complaints. i used to just use lavazza canned espresso , i thought it was good than i got some fresh from a shop WOW what a differance!! now i ordered some beans on line , i was just gonna take it to the supermarket to grind it .is it worth it to buy my own grinder?
do you know a good grinder that will give consistancy? keep in mind I'm talking espresso

For sure... And burr grinders are better than blade grinders. And I do not recommend the refrigerator or freezer for storage of coffee as it may dry out the coffee. Coffee is hydroscopic and will absorb moisture and flavours very easily. If coffee is placed in a freezer the viscosity of the oils are affected altering the flavour. Store it away from heat and light.
