Compression Connector
What is a Compression RCA connector?

I was looking at a Sound System installation at my Friend's house, and he told me that the RCA connectors that were not connected to anything were for Compression, and not for Audio. What is Compression, and what is it used for?
It is a regular RCA cable that is being used. It is not a digital audio cable. It was color-coded red and white. The white is connected, but the red is not connected. He said that the red connector is a Compression connector, and that it should not be connected to anything.

If you give us a model Number, we will be able to answer more accurately.

Strictly speaking, compression means you create a smaller representation of a digital signal.

For example, an MP3 is a compressed version of an audio CD, JPEG is a compressed representation of a digital image. However, "compression" may have alternative meanings, especially in high-end audio.
